Hi everyone! I’ve just returned from my vacation in the spectacular weather of SoCal! Time to enjoy the rest of my winter break, while I am still able to escape the clutches of English homework…

As the title of this post suggests, I have a couple of announcements to make!

1. Thank You Angela

Thank you SO much for keeping our blog updated while I was gone! I lost Wi-Fi for 3 days, so I wasn’t able to come on at all (ok, there was Wi-Fi, but you had to PAY for it! I ain’t paying for that!)

She has posted Part 3 of the Holiday Blowout event, kept our ask.fm inbox neat and tidy, moderated all new comments, and took screenshots to keep our VG History page up to date.

2. Collage Idea

This is an idea that I’ve had for a while now, but I’m not quite sure if it will really work. Since our blog’s birthday (January 27) is this month, I decided to try it out.

I want this collage to represent the community that has sprouted around this blog after 2 years we have spent together, filled with fun, laughs, collaboration, persistence, and occasional obstacles that we have overcome.

And of course, since this collage represents all of us, it will need a part of every single one of you!

Don’t worry, this is very simple if you want to participate. This is what I need you to do:

• Email me a screenshot of your entire ID Fone to fantageville@gmail.com
• Please take off any charms or whatever those hanging thingies are called on your ID Fone, because it blocks part of the ID Fone
• Dress your Fantagian in a color that matches your ID Fone wallpaper
• If you have more than 1 ID Fone wallpaper, please take screenshots of all of them! I need different colors, and as many ID Fones as possible! Make sure to dress in a color that matches.
• The skin (frame) of your ID Fone won’t be included in my final collage, but please include it in your screenshot anyway. This allows me to crop it any way I like.

Example:

 

Remember that it doesn’t matter what the ID Fone skin is, because I won’t be including it in the final collage.

Again, I don’t know if this will work, but I want to try! I need a LOT of ID Fones for this to work!

3. Vintage Gold

In my other Quick Post, I mentioned a petition to bring down Vintage Gold as requested by several people on our ask page.

After reading the comments and thinking it over, I’ve decided that I will not pursue this idea, for a couple reasons.

The number of people that like VG seems to balance out the number of people that don’t like it, and there’s no point to start a petition if we don’t have a majority agreement.

Also, I doubt a petition would do anything at all. Fantage doesn’t really consider their users’ opinions.

Last, for those of us who dislike VG, we don’t need to ruin it for those who do like it. We can just not buy anything from it. True, some of our hard-earned items from a long time ago will be sold there, but we shouldn’t be overreacting about the “value” of items, as it no longer exists. Think of it this way: if you got the item from when it was first released and NOT from VG, then you probably got it for a much better price!

5. XAT Hackers?

People reported to me that there has been some hacking rumors going on in our XAT, and several people have transferred to backup accounts as a result.

Without even looking at the screenshots and other pieces of evidence that they’ve helpfully provided for me, I’m guessing that this is another situation of overreacting, started by someone who isn’t very well-informed on what hacking really is.

The most common “hacking” that I see is a bad person saying “Give me your password or I will hack you” and then they send screenshots of random computer-programming stuff, intending to scare them. Uh, stop for a moment and think. If they have the ability to hack you, why would they be asking for your password in the first place? Wouldn’t they just go ahead and do it?

I’m pretty sure no hacker would waste their time on a blog about a kid’s virtual game. Furthermore, if they were a legit hacker, they most certainly would NOT bother to talk/threaten you on XAT, they would do it secretly so you don’t notice until it’s too late.

So please, don’t start hacking rumors unless you actually did get hacked, for SURE. Don’t start chaos just because some random dude started threatening you in PC that s/he will “hack” you. They’re most likely lying.

As long as you never give away any personal information, nothing will happen to you. This includes (but is not limited to) passwords, birthdays, addresses, phone numbers, and real names.

I have banned Eren Yeager forever on XAT, as many reports are saying that he “hacked” June. I’m pretty sure that he is not a legit hacker and he was able to “hack” June only because he tricked her into giving personal info. As my scroll message says, do not click on any suspicious links, and do not chat with suspicious people.

Ugh, he disgraces Eren Jaeger (from my favorite anime, Shingeki no Kyojin =3=). He even spelled the name wrong

“Eren Yeager” has made new accounts. However, let us keep calm. He is NOT a hacker, he is a scammer that scares kids into giving him information.

Think of him like a spam email. Do you reply to spam emails? You shouldn’t. In fact, I just throw them in the trash without even opening it. But, seeing as we can’t “throw Eren in the trash,” the next best thing to do is to IGNORE HIM.

Do NOT insult him, do NOT reply, do NOT say anything to him. More importantly, do NOT start panic in the main chat by saying “Omg Eren is trying to hack me.” Again. He is NOT a hacker.

You guys are making a big deal out of nothing. June got “hacked” I think, only because she got tricked into giving him information. If you all listen to what I said below, you will not be hacked.
