Yep! I use VisTablet. I use the path tool on Gimp to make my lines though, and that can be done with a mouse. I use the pen for coloring.

Gimp is an art program that you can use to draw. Another really popular one is Paint Tool Sai.

The only thing is that I don’t get how to use the dodge/burn tool.. (the dodge) for the eyes.. I can’t really draw with it..(for the pupil.) Whenever I use it, the colour comes out waaay lighter than what it looked like in the video..can you help?

When drawing clothes, never draw straight lines, always draw them wavy, so it looks like it has folds in it.
See the eye tutorial in the bunch of links at the top of this page, that’s how I learned.

Looks good! 🙂 “Castle in the Sky” is actually a famous Japanese animated movie released in 1986 by Hayao Miyazaki (; It’s a pretty nice movie and Mr. Miyazaki also is the creator of Totoro and Spirited Away; all those little animations. Haha, the title just brings back memories :3

Oh MooMoo! The proportions are awesome its just the faces are a TEENY triangular, If you used the edit on GIMP (there should be one on the updated version, If not…..) it might look better! They just need to be a little more oval shaped ~ But saying that its ‘horrible’ is like, OVERBOARD! I could write a whole novel on how guilty i feel (even though I didnt comment that!) It’s like when one person comments something nice we all agree but when someone comments something mean its hard to disagree because we agree with almost EVERY comment! But Its like, that comment 😦 So bad.

I think that your artwork is one of the best on DeviantArt! Those other people that draw like you, they sell for $25 for the smallest picture! By this (persuasive **Coughs**) comment I would say they are the cheapest ones on Deviant Art.

Lol no, that would be an immense stretching of the truth. There are AMAZING artists on deviantart, people that do it professionally for a living. And selling it in print for $25 is pretty reasonable, since they have it wallpaper-size.
I’ll try doing my art on paper first, then moving to digital art, once I improve 🙂

Nice Artwork! I thought i could draw, wow my eyes are smiling right now. I think 1,000,000 flies just got caught in my mouth. I can only draw on paper and on the programs on our computers i can only do editing..I’m jelly

May I give some criticism? If I sound harsh or anything, please don’t take it the wrong way. I’m a beginner myself with digital art– mainly since I have an iPod Touch and I downloaded an app that allows me to draw.. with my finger, because I pulled the little silicone thingy off of my pen last year. I regret that. ._.
Anyways, you could use some work on the hair, nose, chin, eyebrows, and lips on the drawing of Elsa. To start with, I’ll begin with her hair. I honestly don’t know how to describe the location.. Northeast of her eye..? The left part of her hair? If you know what I mean, there you could make it a bit smaller, since I noticed that Elsa’s hair isn’t very messy (despite the wind she makes on that mountain). Now, the nose seems quite long and the tip is a bit pointy, too close to her lips. I suppose you mean to make Elsa’s head at an angle, however the starting point at her nose should be where those pink things at the eyes would be, if they were visible, and it should still be centered. Only one nostril should be seen, too. Her eyebrows are pretty long in this drawing– too long. If you want to make them look a bit shorter, make them a little thicker towards the top. Her chin should be centered, and her lips are thin and the color should be paler, since she has a pale/icy appearance.
On the anime-styled art, if you have an Apple device, I suggest searching up Manga University on the App Store. It’s free and the tutorials are very simple. If you don’t have an Apple device, look up their videos. Their Youtube account is mangauniversity.
Your realism pieces are beautiful. For some reason, I find realism easier, even though it takes longer. >.<

Oh gosh I’m really no expert at anatomical accuracy, I didn’t really look at any guides and I’m nowhere near the level of those people on deviantart, lol

You’re way better than me ;-; I occasionally use MS Paint (the old one) and I think I’m better on that on drawing my OCs/fursonas than paper or my iPod.. But then when I save the MS Paint pieces, the colors get really weird and it turns into pixel-mania. >.>

I think you should focus on the location of the eyes, and possibly the chin. The angle of it is…queer…I can’t really tell how far she’s turn her head (or if she’s turning it at all). The location of her eyes is also a critical position as it affects where you put the mouth and nose. If you intend to put your eyes at an angle, remember to make the one further back smaller. The nose is a bit…slanted? But that’s about it. You’ve really improved from your old artworks (:

Does GIMP have an opacity bar? If so, what opacity do you use?

Yeah, you can change the opacity for the eraser, paintbrush, airbrush, etc. I use full opacity, the middle brush (where you choose whether you want a full brush or a fuzzier one), and size 8 for sketches.
